Program and Job Description:
The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) serves over 8.4 million residents from diverse backgrounds. The NYC Public Health Laboratory (PHL), one of the largest local public health labs in the U.S., offers a dynamic environment where employees contribute to NYC’s health and safety through clinical and environmental testing. With over a century of leadership, a team of 200+ staff is committed to safeguarding public health by providing quality testing services to prevent and respond to health threats, including COVID-19, vaccine-preventable diseases, HIV, Legionella, and outbreaks related to respiratory, foodborne, and waterborne diseases.
The PHL seeks qualified candidates for the position of Associate Laboratory Microbiologist III, who will play a key role in laboratory testing and responding to public health threats. This is an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with local, state, federal, and academic partners.
