Job summary

Centric Brands is seeking an Associate Technical Designer for our Kids Division, focusing on boys' separates. You will work with cross-functional partners to prepare specs, ensure proper fit and construction, and prepare samples for fit sessions.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fabrications is essential; experience with overseas vendors and PLM tools is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 yrs of technical design experience, preferably in children’s apparel
• Apparel related Associates or Bachelor’s degree from a Fashion School preferred
• Experience working with overseas vendors

Responsibilities

• Participate in style and fit approval process with cross-functional partners to meet deadlines and address issues with technical designers and fashion designers
• Work closely with the Technical Design Manager to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and construction
• Measure and prepare all samples for fit sessions
• Participate in fit sessions, taking accurate notes and making appropriate recommendations for fit and construction issues
• Adhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and construction
• Communicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through reports, sketches and pattern corrections
• Review and comment on digital reports from overseas Technical Design team
• Field issues from proto through production
• Support technical design workload by creating fit schedules and maintaining tracking logs and measurement records
• Participate in 3D initiatives
• Support additional technical design projects and initiatives as needed
