Associate Software Engineer – Java
Hybrid work model: two days in‑office per week, remaining days remote or in‑office as allowed.
Overview
Our Technology team is the backbone of the company, creating, testing, learning and iterating to better meet customer needs. This role is part of an agile team building next‑generation travel applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in mission‑critical projects with direct impact on Priceline’s business.
- Work in a cross‑functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates, and delivers on new product objectives.
- Develop in Core Java or a similar language.
- Build low‑latency, high‑throughput transactional services with CI/CD and automated testing.
- Compose and query SQL for real‑time investigation and analysis.
- Understand the codebase, systems and business requirements, and implement changes to applications.
- Collaborate and engage with team members, advocating best solutions, and communicate respectfully to reach agreements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Core Java.
- Deep understanding of modern real‑time and batch processing Big Data solutions (Spark, Kafka, KSQL, Flink, Apache Beam).
- Experience building applications that use NoSQL stores (e.g., Cassandra, Bigtable, MongoDB).
- Comfort and experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
- Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, Docker is a plus.

Salary
Base salary range: $85,000 – $100,000 CAD. Eligible for bonus and/or equity.
