Job summary

LORNA GROSS Interior Design is seeking an Associate Designer on a contract basis to support the design team from concept through installation. The ideal candidate is detailed, organized, technically proficient, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role requires drafting accuracy, experience with AutoCAD or Revit, and the ability to balance creativity with precise documentation. Collaboration with vendors and project partners is key to success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 2-4 years of professional interior design experience, preferably in luxury residential or hospitality design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit (required).
  • Excellent drafting skills and understanding of construction documentation.
  • Ability to read and create floor plans, elevations, and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of measurements, space planning, and design specifications.
  • Experience with SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop/InDesign is preferred.
  • Experience with Studio Designer is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and client-focused attitude.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a quick learner with the ability to adapt to new processes and technologies.

  • Develop finish plans, furniture layouts, and fixture schedules.
  • Understand and interpret architectural drawings, dimensions, specifications, and field measurements.
  • Conduct on-site measurements and assist with project installations.
  • Research products, materials, furnishings, fixtures, and finishes.
  • Source furnishings, accessories, lighting, and plumbing fixtures that align with project goals.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign experience is a plus).
  • Prepare product specifications and assist with pricing and client proposals in Studio Designer.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, contractors, and project partners.
  • Support the design team with project documentation, organization, and scheduling.
  • Maintain project accuracy while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview:

The Associate Designer will support the design team throughout all phases of the design process- from concept development through installation.
