Qualifications

• Leadership in theatre arts education required.
• Experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee artistic and production elements for preparing adults with disabilities for a full-length musical theatre production.
• Guide the creative vision through script analysis, casting, staging, character development, and interpretation.
• Foster an inclusive rehearsal environment for performers with varying independence levels.
• Collaborate with choreographer, music director, assistant director and technical director to develop participants' skills.
• Direct rehearsals and performances and coordinate production planning.
• Hold weekly classes on Saturdays from 9:00-11:30 AM, with up to 20 hours per week of additional paid prep time.
• Lead and facilitate a four-day summer camp for auditions and casting.
• Manage increased hours during spring production season for rehearsals, tech week and performances.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Lead and oversee all artistic and production elements for preparing adults with disabilities for a full-length musical theatre production.
• Guide the creative vision through script analysis, casting, staging, character development, and artistic interpretation.
• Foster a supportive and engaging rehearsal environment for performers with varying independence levels.
• Collaborate with choreographer, music director, assistant director, and technical director to develop participants' skills in acting, music, choreography, memorization, blocking, and performance.
• Ensure productions reflect artistic excellence and meaningful participant growth.
• Direct rehearsals and performances.
• Coordinate production planning including licensing, rehearsal scheduling, production meetings, marketing collaboration, technical preparation, venue communication, and coordination of sets, props, costumes, and backstage operations.
• Hold weekly classes on Saturdays from 9:00-11:30 AM, with up to 20 hours per week of additional paid preparation time.
• Lead and facilitate a four-day summer camp for auditions and casting.
• Manage increased hours during spring production season for rehearsals, technical week, and performances.

About You

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay rate range: $9.62 to $27.06 per hour.
• Participation in Utah Retirement Systems (URS) for eligible hires with prior URS service.
• Subject to URS post-retirement rules if applicable.
