Position

Become a lead teacher at the Penacook Community Center in Penacook, NH. This full-time role offers growth opportunities within a supportive organization. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, caring, and has at least a high school diploma or equivalent plus 18+ ECE credits. Responsibilities include creating a nurturing classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, creative, physical, and linguistic development in collaboration with families.

Duties
Prepare Youth for Success
  • Foster an environment conducive to youth development outcomes.
  • Respond sensitively to children's interests and needs, encouraging exploration with positive guidance strategies.
  • Plan and implement curriculum tailored to individual needs, incorporating emergent curriculum elements.
  • Maintain program goals ensuring health and safety of all members.
  • Evaluate programs regularly, tracking outcomes and ensuring inclusivity respecting gender and cultural diversity.
  • Use observation notes for curriculum planning and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure familiarity with members and oversee adherence to safety and quality standards including NAEYC, GSQ, Culture DNA, BGCCNNH, and CCLU policies.
  • Administer medications and first aid as needed, communicating incidents to families.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision
  • Manage record-keeping and reporting, providing data to leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and children.
  • Supervise staff, volunteers, and students, providing feedback and support.
  • Lead planning meetings and enhance program visibility through various channels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Qualified lead teacher with 18+ credits and two years of early childhood education experience, or equivalent.
  • Minimum age 18 with 1,000+ hours in a licensed program.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and curriculum development.
  • Ability to create engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and behavior management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to maintain professional appearance, adapt to diverse learning styles, and obtain CPR/First Aid certifications.
  • Possibility of driving the club van/short bus; must have a safe driving record.
  • Willingness to assist with cleaning and organization, maintain confidentiality, and travel occasionally between locations.
Additional Expectations
  • All hires must pass FBI fingerprint and state criminal background checks; employment may be contingent upon these results.
  • Zero-tolerance policy for abuse; violations will result in termination and law enforcement cooperation.
