Job summary

Zinnia is seeking a Product Manager for Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) to own backlog and collaborate with Engineering and Security. You will shape authentication, authorization, and the user lifecycle features, balancing security with a smooth user experience for carriers, distributors, and policyholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product Management, with exposure to identity and access management (CIAM).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technology or related field.
• Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, and session/token concepts.
• Familiarity with CIAM/IAM platforms (Okta/Auth0, Ping, Microsoft Entra/Azure AD B2C).
• Understanding of authentication/authorization models (SSO, MFA, passwordless, RBAC/ABAC) and threats.
• Experience with API integration, SQL, and data analysis.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and data integration.
• Ability to collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Security in a global setup.
• Experience with Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
• Life & Annuity or financial-services industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the CIAM backlog and contribute to the CIAM roadmap across consumer, partner, and workforce identity.
• Write clear requirements and user stories for identity capabilities (authentication, authorization, user lifecycle).
• Collaborate with Engineering and Security on identity protocol decisions (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM).
• Evaluate build-vs-buy options and maintain integration approaches across Zinnia products.
• Balance security, privacy, and usability to reduce friction while protecting against threats.
• Work with Security, Risk, and Compliance to meet regulatory obligations in the insurance sector.
• Track feature performance and use metrics to prioritize improvements.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security as a daily point of contact for identity needs.
• Support release planning and ensure enhancements meet carrier/distributor/end-user needs.

WHO YOU ARE

As Product Manager for Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM), you will help shape and deliver how carriers, distributors, partners, and policyholders securely access Zinnia s platform. Working alongside senior product leadership, you will own the backlog and delivery for parts of the identity product area — authentication, authorization, and the user lifecycle — balancing security and compliance with a smooth user experience. You will partner day to day with Engineering and Security to turn requirements into shipped features.

WHAT YOU LL DO

• Own the product backlog and contribute to the CIAM roadmap across consumer (policyholder), partner (distributor/agent), and workforce identity.
• Write clear requirements and user stories for identity capabilities - authentication (SSO, MFA, passwordless), authorization (RBAC/ABAC, delegated access), and the user lifecycle (registration, provisioning/SCIM, recovery, deprovisioning).
• Work with Engineering and Architecture on identity protocol decisions and implementation (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM).
• Contribute to build-vs-buy and platform evaluations for identity providers, and help maintain the integration approach across Zinnia products.
• Balance security, privacy, and usability — helping reduce friction while protecting against account takeover, credential stuffing, and abuse.
• Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance to ensure identity features meet regulatory and industry obligations applicable to the insurance industry.
• Track feature performance and success metrics (e.g., authentication success and abandonment, MFA adoption) and use them to prioritize improvements.
• Collaborate closely across Product, Engineering, and Security as a day-to-day point of contact for identity requirements.
• Support release planning and ensure enhancements respond to carrier, distributor, and end-user needs.

WHAT YOU LL NEED

• 5+ years in Product Management, with exposure to identity and access management or customer identity (CIAM).
• Bachelor s / Master s or equivalent degree in technology or a related field.
• Working knowledge of modern identity standards and protocols: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, and session/token concepts.
• Familiarity with CIAM/IAM platforms and identity providers (e.g., Okta/Auth0, Ping, Microsoft Entra / Azure AD B2C, or equivalent).
• Understanding of authentication and authorization models (SSO, MFA, passwordless, RBAC/ABAC) and common account-security threats.
• Awareness of security, privacy, and regulatory/compliance requirements in a regulated industry.
• Hands-on understanding of API integration, SQL, and data analysis.
• Solid understanding of the SDLC, technology system interfaces, and data integration.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, and Security in a global, cross-functional setting.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and related tooling.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills; comfortable managing moderately complex problems with guidance from senior product leadership.
• Experience in the Life & Annuity or broader financial-services industry is a plus, not mandatory.
