Job summary

Total Wine & More in Bethesda, MD is seeking an Associate II, Market Management to support wine and beer buying and replenishment for stores in the chain. You will manage vendor relations, create replenishment orders, and perform cost analysis under the Director, Market Management.

This role blends supply chain and buying and requires strong communication and Excel skills. Regular in-office work in Bethesda with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Buying or Supply Chain.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft applications including Excel (complex functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for wholesalers in assigned market.
• Manage wholesalers’ cost data collection and maintenance.
• Create replenishment orders and place POs.
• Perform cost and deal analysis.
• Resolve vendor service issues and coordinate with vendors.
• Respond to inquiries about supplier availability and costs.
• Manage store in-stock rates and inventory levels.
• Reconcile invoices and POs.
• Prepare content for recurring meetings with wholesaler partners.
• Identify opportunities to drive sales via promotions and displays.

About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking an Associate II, Market Management to join our Market Management team in our Bethesda, MD office. You will be involved with wine and beer buying and replenishment for stores in the Total Wine & More chain. You will manage vendor relations and issues for their region(s) and help establish and determine process improvements. Our Market Management team is a unique mix of supply chain and buying; the team has an impact on the products we sell. You will report to the Director, Market Management.

You will

• Serve as primary contact for multiple wine & spirit wholesalers in assigned market
• Manage collection and maintenance of wholesalers’ cost data
• Create Replenishment Orders and PO placement
• Perform cost and deal analysis
• Resolve Vendor Service Issues and coordinate with vendors
• Respond to inquiries regarding supplier product availability and costs
• Manage store in stock rates and inventory levels
• Reconcile invoices and POs
• Prepare content for recurring meetings with wholesaler partners
• Identify opportunities to drive sales through promotional activity related to in store displays, retail reductions or advertising and working inter-departmentally to achieve results

You will come with

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain or related field
• 2+ years of experience in Buying or Supply Chain
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic Accounting skills and interest in performing accounting tasks
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel (can use complex functions, pivot tables, V-lookup functions, etc.
