Job summary

Alcon Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Associate I in Quality Control Lab – Microbiology to perform microbiological testing and environmental monitoring while ensuring aseptic practices and regulatory compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
• Fluency in reading, writing, understanding and communicating in English
• Work location Fort Worth, TX; full-time, non-exempt

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing (bioburden, sterility, bacterial endotoxin, preservative efficacy) per SOPs
• Perform microbial identification using Gram stain and interpret results
• Handle complex tasks and contribute to advanced projects in QC Lab - Microbiology
• Conduct environmental monitoring and testing maintaining aseptic practices
• Support product and process validation, product release, and regulatory compliance
• Make significant decisions within project area influencing outcomes
• Collaborate with affiliated departments to integrate lab results into manufacturing
• Drive problem-solving and innovation through scientific principles
• Adhere to GxP SOPs and maintain accurate documentation
• Complete required training and meet job requirements for compliance
• Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance

This role is part of Alcon's Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, a team that ensures our products are in compliance with global, local, and internal regulations and meet the strictest standards of quality as we help people see brilliantly.

The Associate I, Quality Control Lab - Microbiology, is primarily responsible for handling complex tasks in the Quality Control Lab, focusing on environmental monitoring, testing, and maintaining aseptic practices. You will support product validation and compliance, requiring strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Specifics Include:

• Conduct microbiological testing, including bioburden, sterility, bacterial endotoxin, and preservative efficacy testing, in compliance with established procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Perform microbial identification using Gram stain methodology and interpret results to support microbiological investigations and quality control activities.
• Handle complex tasks and contribute to advanced projects in the Quality Control Lab - Microbiology.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and testing while maintaining aseptic practices and microbiological controls.
• Support product and process validation, product release, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Make significant decisions within your project area, influencing project outcomes.
• Support lab operations and collaborate with affiliated departments to integrate lab results into the manufacturing process.
• Drive problem-solving and innovation through scientific principles.
• Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
• Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements, contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
• Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
