Qualifications

Job Description: HVAC Technician at Metro Water Recovery, Denver, CO

Metro Water Recovery, a nationally recognized leader in clean water utilities, provides wastewater conveyance and treatment services for 2.2 million residents in the Denver Metro area. This position is available at multiple levels depending on the candidate's qualifications:

  1. Associate HVAC Technician ($24.28 - $33.89): Assists with installation, startup, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and servicing HVAC equipment in a wastewater treatment plant. Reports to the HVAC Supervisor and may take direction from senior HVAC personnel.
  2. HVAC Technician ($26.23 - $36.59): Performs installation, startup, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and servicing HVAC equipment. Reports to the HVAC Supervisor.
  3. Senior HVAC Technician ($30.60 - $42.68): Responsible for installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and servicing HVAC systems that carry water, steam, chemicals, or gases. Reports to the HVAC Supervisor.

Qualifications
Common Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of safety practices, operation of hand and power tools, and office processes
  • Ability to work in extreme environments and communicate effectively
Specific to HVAC Technician and Senior HVAC Technician:
  • Knowledge of HVAC maintenance, installation, and electronic theory
  • Skilled in basic HVAC repairs, building automation systems, and CMMS
  • Ability to operate lifting equipment and source parts
Certifications

For Senior HVAC Technician, CFC (EPA 608) certification and Boom and Scissor lift certification are required.
