As part of the HR Services Center of Excellence, reporting to the Sr Director, Employee Services, the Associate HR Employee Services Partner will develop strong relationships with leaders, managers, and employees to enhance the organization’s talent experience by delivering consistent policies and practices. Collaborating with Talent Strategy Partners and other Centers of Excellence, including HR Operations, Talent & Inclusion, and Total Rewards, the role ensures employees feel supported throughout their Cengage journey.

What You'll Do Here

Employee Services

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing guidance and coaching while mitigating business risks.
  • Partner with HRTSP team to understand talent strategies and support their execution.
  • Support organization and operating model projects, including org design, role and job leveling, and change management.
  • Build a performance-based culture by engaging with managers and employees, coaching on high performance and addressing under-performance.
  • Provide expertise on sensitive employee matters, including performance management and terminations.
  • Guide employees and managers on HR processes, policies, and tools.
  • Lead investigations into employee relations issues in partnership with Legal, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Coordinate with HR Operations, Talent & Inclusion, and Total Rewards to address employee and manager needs with care and efficiency.
  • Ensure smooth request transitions, maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Gather employee feedback to improve HR programs.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards on internal and external equity issues related to compensation.

HR Excellence

  • Deliver seamless employee experiences, focusing on service excellence, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Build collaborative relationships to improve employee experience and influence change.
  • Contribute to the global HR community, enhancing the function’s strategic value and performance.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably in Employee Relations or HR Specialist roles.
  • Effective communication skills for ideas and data presentation.
  • Strong coaching, conflict resolution, and difficult conversation skills.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and project management abilities.
  • Collaborative, innovative, customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with all employee levels and thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Workday is highly preferred.

Compensation

We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $76,000 USD, with individual pay based on experience, qualifications, and location. Sales roles may include additional incentives.
