Job summary

Washington College, a liberal arts college in Chestertown, MD, seeks an Associate Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach to support both programs. You will coach, recruit, and mentor student-athletes, while coordinating marketing, video analysis, and outreach aligned with NCAA guidelines.

You will collaborate with the Head Coach to plan practices, organize events, and promote team success and academic progress within the college community.

Qualifications

• Playing and coaching experience at a collegiate level.
• Prior experience in marketing, communications is a plus.
• Expertise in tennis and demonstrated excellence in coaching and instruction.
• Commitment to outstanding sportsmanship and the role of sports in developing youths.
• Proficiency with motion analysis and use of video analysis software.
• Washington College is on the historic Chestertown campus on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary coach of our men’s tennis program.
• Assist the Head Coach with athletic instruction, practices, conditioning and recruiting.
• Coach and teach sport-specific skills and match preparation.
• Conduct player evaluations and tailor coaching techniques.
• Foster team morale and mentor student-athletes academically and personally.
• Ensure athletes meet NCAA eligibility and medical clearance.
• Coordinate and market streaming of varsity matches with communications.
• Support fundraising, sponsorships, and community tennis events.
