Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Landscape and analyse supplier dynamics in LMICs for priority products.
• Develop demand forecasts and uptake models for new and existing technologies.
• Execute costing and impact analyses for new models of financing, procurement, and distribution.
• Lead preparation of high-quality presentations, reports, and analyses for global and country discussions.
• Perform due diligence and develop business cases to support supplier negotiations and pricing agreements.
• Proactively develop and manage relationships with product manufacturers, partners, and donors.
• Support in-country planning around new product introduction, including alignment and supply chain considerations.
• Track developments in the diagnostics landscape relevant to outcomes and regulations.
• Participate in meetings with partners including government stakeholders and donors.
• Drive day-to-day project activities, document tracking, knowledge sharing, and project management.

Overview

The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.

CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life‑saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. Program Overview

The CHAI Global Markets Team (GMT) strives to build healthy marketplaces to ensure the sustainable supply of vital medical commodities. In particular, the Global Markets Team helps life science companies understand what products are needed in low- and middle-income countries, what prices are sustainable, and how to navigate complex regulatory and procurement environments.

GMT is responsible for managing relationships with major pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies which includes negotiating access programs, licensing agreements, product development agreements, and volume guarantees, among other activities.

Example market shaping efforts that CHAI has been involved with include the following:

• Kenya is granted special Caffeine Citrate pricing after Clinton Health Access Initiative led negotiations with Ethypharm – Health Business
• CHAI and The Hepatitis Fund announce pricing breakthrough to reduce cost of viral hepatitis treatment by over 90 percent
• New agreement secures historic US$1 price for HIV self-test
• Global partnership to make available 120M affordable, quality COVID-19 rapid tests for low- and middle-income countries
• Price reduction agreement for contraceptive implants increased distribution by >50% and will save more than US$300M

Position Overview

SUPREME (Sustainable Equitable Care and Universal Resources for Eclampsia and Anaemia) is a four-year, UnitAid-funded programme that began in early 2026, working to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths across five countries — Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, and Tanzania — by improving access to quality‑assured, affordable tools for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of pre‑eclampsia/ eclampsia and maternal anaemia. Within the SUPREME portfolio, SECURE is a project led by CHAI and is focused on improving the availability of and access to priority maternal health products. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding analytical, strategic, communication, and teamwork skills to support this work. The Associate, Global Markets Team, will work with the team to support the activities on SUPREME.

Responsibilities

• Landscape and analyse supplier dynamics in low- and middle-income countries for priority products, including market share of suppliers, pricing, timelines for product development, regulatory approvals, and manufacturing, and suppliers’ development and access strategies
• Develop demand forecasts and uptake models for new and existing technologies
• Execute costing and impact analysis for new models of financing, procurement, and distribution, including all-inclusive pricing, equipment leasing, pooled procurement, and tender optimization
• Lead preparation of high-quality presentations, reports, and other analyses to inform global and country-level discussions on new and innovative products.
• Perform company due diligence and develop business cases to support focused supplier negotiations and pricing agreements
• Proactively develop and manage relationships with product manufacturers, key external partners, and donors.
• Support in-country planning around new product introduction, including strategic alignment, policymaking, supply chain management, and resource mobilization.
• Track and analyse developments in the diagnostics landscape relevant to project outcomes, including emerging technologies, regulatory frameworks, and implementation best practices.
• Participate in meetings with partners, including government stakeholders, technology providers, implementing partners, donors, and other organizations.
• Drive day-to-day project activities, including maintaining project documentation, tracking deliverables against timelines, sharing knowledge and insights, and supporting project management activities to ensure efficient execution
• Support fundraising efforts by conducting background research, developing compelling narratives, and contributing to proposal development and donor engagement materials.
