Associate General Manager, Disney Theatrical Group

The Associate GM reports to the Vice President of Production and has two main responsibilities:

  1. Managing various projects that require strong production knowledge and overlap with finance or business areas, such as tax credit work, workers' compensation management, budget evaluation, and contract record keeping.
  2. Providing overflow support within the GM teams and developmental projects during busy production periods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit tax credit documentation, which has historically generated $1-3 million in revenue for DTG.
  • Collaborate with VP, GMs, HR, and ER to manage workers' compensation claims and implement preventive measures to reduce premiums, which increased by $1 million this year.
  • Create detailed production and operating budgets to support VP and GM teams.
  • Develop tracking systems with legal and production teams to monitor labor costs and ensure parity and consistency across productions.
  • Support production teams by building budgets, executing contracts, and liaising with technical staff as needed.
  • Assist GMs in building Estimated Final Costs (EFC) based on production budgets and assumptions.
  • Coordinate with the VP of Production on global production calendars.
  • Help manage creative development projects such as readings and labs, independently or alongside GM teams.
  • Review operating costs periodically to ensure efficiency in running shows.
  • Handle other management projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in Company Management or General Management
  • Experience with capital and operating budgets
  • Tax credit preparation experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with theatrical unions
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, analyze situations, and proactively find solutions
