Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified attorney for a position in the UnitedHealthcare legal department for the Northeast Region, supporting the Network Legal Team. The lawyer will assist in developing and managing UnitedHealthcare’s provider network, negotiate major provider contracts, and support enterprise-wide priorities like affordability and product expansion.

Responsibilities

1. Provide legal support for Northeast Region network markets (VA, WV, MD, DC, PA, DE, NY, NJ, MA, ME, VT, RI).
2. Collaborate with legal professionals across the enterprise.
3. Advise leadership on healthcare provider relationships, including contract development, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
4. Manage disputes, arbitration, and settlements.
5. Develop industry and company-specific knowledge of provider network operations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Law license in one or more states
• 5+ years legal experience, advising senior leadership, drafting complex contracts, and working in regulated industries
• Strong communication skills and proven results-driven approach

Preferred:

• Experience with pre-litigation matters and healthcare regulatory agencies
• Knowledge of healthcare benefits, insurance, and relevant laws

Additional Information
