Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. seeks an Associate General Counsel, Product & IP to provide strategic product guidance at the intersection of IP and AI. You will work with product and business teams to embed IP protection into Scale's offerings.

The role requires at least 8 years of in-house or top law firm experience, a JD and California bar in good standing, and the ability to shape IP strategy while negotiating cutting-edge AI-related agreements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in-house and/or at a top law firm.
• Experience managing IP portfolios and providing product counseling.
• California bar in good standing.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Scale's worldwide IP portfolio and develop an enterprise IP strategy.
• Lead invention sessions, disclosure selection, patent drafting and prosecution.
• Serve as SME on US and global IP laws for business and Legal teams.
• Collaborate with product teams to embed IP protection by design and compliance.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements at the intersection of IP and AI.
• Support the General Counsel and Product Legal teams' strategic vision.
