Responsibilities

• Drafts departmental rules and regulations for incorporation in the Texas Administrative Code.
• Prepares and reviews legal opinions, briefs, decisions, orders, contracts, and other instruments.
• Reviews and renders legal advice on a variety of legal issues.
• Drafts, negotiates and administers contracts and amendments.
• Responds to information requests under public information acts.
• Researches legal issues and interprets laws and regulations.
