Job summary

NBBJ seeks an Associate General Counsel to lead end-to-end contract negotiations and provide strategic legal guidance across domestic and international projects. The role reports to the General Counsel and collaborates with project teams and functional groups to mitigate risk.

The ideal candidate has a JD and 15+ years of experience, with strong drafting, negotiation, and cross-border transaction skills. Travel as needed, with focus on architecture/engineering/construction sectors.

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed to practice in applicable jurisdictions.
• 15+ years of legal experience, preferably in-house or large law firm environments.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally and manage cross-border contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end domestic and international RFP processes and provide strategic legal guidance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate client, vendor, and software license agreements with risk mitigation.
• Assist General Counsel with claims management and litigation support.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing and HR to align legal strategy with business goals.
• Develop and train on company policies and contract practices for staff.
• Present to audiences to raise awareness of legal issues and drive best practices.
