Job Description

Assist General Counsel in managing the legal affairs of the company (Third Party Claims Administrator). Assist with the establishment of protocols for prompt and efficient disposition of litigated matters. Manage the compliance team and strengthen procedures to ensure all demands, lawsuits and related matters are handled appropriately. Monitor the more “routine” cases that are handled by other departments and coordinate additional training and guidance as needed. In coordination with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and other department heads, establish and maintain a premier network of panel counsel to accommodate any specialty. Work with General Counsel in reviewing contracts, to include claims management agreements, vendor services agreements, and other items as needed. Attend round tables, client meetings, mentor managers and adjusters and assist management with analysis as requested. Reviews claims that are reported, screens for claims that have high exposure that may not be reported to the appropriate level. Assists in the training and development of managers and adjusters. Provides technical direction in claims and facilitates reporting to internal and external customers, carriers, reinsurers, brokers, and agents. Oversees day-to-day administrative duties required within the Legal Department. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned, which may include travel.
