2K’s Cat Daddy studio, based in Kirkland, Washington, was started 25+ years ago by industry veterans and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive within the 2K Label. The studio is a fun, dedicated family of incredibly hardworking game developers. We have shipped games on almost every genre and platform, with a current focus on mobile games.

What We Need:

Cat Daddy is seeking an Associate Game Engine Engineer to provide temporary development support for our mobile games. In this role, you will work with top-tier game developers to design, prototype, implement, improve and maintain game engine features related to graphics and core engine code.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance code for our proprietary game and graphics engine
  • Create detailed designs, technical documentation, and test cases for assigned projects
  • Collaborate with the team members and QA staff to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs efficiently
  • Work with existing proprietary software and develop new technologies to meet project requirements and objectives
  • Proactively identify technical challenges and development risks, and implement effective solutions to address them
Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in video game development, mobile platform experience is a plus
  • Experience developing core game engine systems, including graphics rendering and pipelines
  • Experience in C / C++
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and master new tools, frameworks, and technologies
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines
  • Prior experience in iOS or Android programming is a big plus
  • A positive demeanor with a passion for gaming

The pay range for this position in Washington at the start of employment is expected to be between $60,200 and $89,120 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
