THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Associate Fire Service Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired efficiently to maintain their overall performance. It is a key role for our growing team, requiring attention to detail in troubleshooting and repair. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with customers and colleagues.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing fire and life safety systems, including conventional and addressable solutions.
  • Use troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect faults.
  • Ensure maximum detection and alarm coverage during repairs.
  • Produce repair reports according to NFPA standards for customer acceptance and billing.
  • Program systems via laptop computers.
  • Manage vehicle inventory and repair tools.
  • Support and guide other technicians.
  • Follow industry standards and Sciens safety policies.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to two years of experience as a Fire Service Technician.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems and NFPA 72 code.
  • Understanding of circuit integrity and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to program fire alarm systems using a laptop.
  • Ability to read fire system design drawings.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally overnight.
  • Desire to obtain NICET Level I certification.
  • State-required minimum certifications.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with urgency.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, with ability to obtain OSHA 10.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform demanding work, including lifting and working at heights.
  • Pass background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
