Sciens Building Solutions is actively seeking an Associate Fire Alarm Inspector to assist with inspection and maintenance of fire alarm systems in our Maryland service area. This role collaborates with sales, field project teams, and clients to ensure code-compliant systems and thorough documentation.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn the fire-life safety industry, can handle tight deadlines, and possesses a high school diploma with the ability to obtain OSHA 10 and NFPA knowledge as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of NFPA code requirements.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certifications.
• Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Be physically fit to perform demanding work, including lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing system layouts and coordinating with the systems and service departments for successful testing and inspection.
• Assist with testing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
• Assist with delivering testing on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Responsible for logging and transmitting inspection reports via technical device.
• Work under tight deadlines.
• Comply with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies.

This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure our customers’ systems are inspected and maintained in a code-compliant manner. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.
