Job summary

Cresset is a client-first, independent multi-family office dedicated to optimizing wealth and life for ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The Associate, Financial Reporting, will handle bookkeeping, general ledgers, and production of client-ready reports under the Head of Financial Reporting.

This role requires detail orientation and strong accounting fundamentals. Based in our Chicago office, you will prepare statements, reconcilations, and cash reporting, supporting residential holdings and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and relevant certification preferred.
  • Strong command of accounting principles with attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing client-ready financial reports and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Bookkeep for family entities, including related entities.
  • Maintain client ledgers with journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash reporting
  • Research discrepancies and implement corrective entries.
  • Generate client reports using QuickBooks for deliverables.
  • Support residential holdings accounting and related transactions.

This role requires a strong command of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to translate financial data into clear, client-ready deliverables.This position will report directly to the Managing Director, Head of Financial Reporting.Bookkeeping & General Ledger AccountingPerform bookkeeping for family entities, which may include individuals or other related entities within QuickBooksMaintain client general ledgers, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost allocations across multiple entitiesResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective entriesFinancial ReportingGenerate client reports using QuickBooks for monthly, quarterly, and annual client deliverablesPrepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedulesReconciliations & Cash ReportingPerform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial recordsSupport cash management reporting, including sources and uses of cash for family members and related entitiesSupport financial operations related to residential holdings and acquisitions, including recording of related transactionsWhat We Offer:At Cresset, we focus on people first.
