Job summary

Wealth Enhancement Group, LLC in Los Angeles is seeking an Associate Financial Planner to organize client files, develop comprehensive financial plans, and coordinate with Investment and Insurance teams. You will review benefit plans, tax returns, and estate documents, and prepare detailed reports using Morningstar and BRT.

This role supports Financial Advisors through CRM documentation and technical research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year in financial services.
  • For hybrid offices: FINRA Series7 & 66 (or 63 and 65) required; insurance licenses preferred.
  • For RIA-only offices: Series65 or one advanced designation (CFA, CFP, ChFC, CIC, or PFS) required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Salesforce, Support Org functionality; Workday preferred.
  • Strong proofreading, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organize clients’ financial documentation into planning folders and maintain document integrity.
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans with profiles, strategies, and summaries of client information and assets.
  • Coordinate requests with Investment and Insurance departments; gather documentation and discuss findings with Financial Advisors.
  • Review and summarize employer benefit plans, tax returns, Social Security, pensions, and estate documents.
  • Create reports using Morningstar and BRT (Kettley) and incorporate recommendations into plans.
  • Verify insurance illustrations for suitability and finalize before client meetings.
  • Record notes in CRM, track required minimum distributions, and maintain accurate beneficiary information.
  • Schedule client reviews, prepare documentation, and provide investment-objective recommendations.
  • Perform post-review tasks and update account information; document all activities in CRM.
  • Provide Technical Planning and Research Support to Financial Advisors and participate in training and team meetings.
  • Engage in special projects and perform other duties as needed.

Associate Financial Planner – Responsibilities
  • Organize clients’ financial documentation into appropriate planning folders and maintain the integrity of original documents.
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans, including profiles and strategies, and provide summaries of clients’ personal information, financial positions, asset allocations, and investment analyses.
  • Coordinate requests with Investment and Insurance departments, gather supporting documentation from clients, and discuss findings and recommendations with Financial Advisors.
  • Review and summarize clients’ employer benefit plans, tax returns, Social Security, pension, insurance, beneficiary information, estate plans, wills, powers of attorney, and other legal documents.
  • Create reports and analyses using Morningstar and BRT (Kettley) and incorporate recommendations into financial plans.
  • Verify insurance product illustrations, ensure suitability and quality of plans, and finalize before client meetings.
  • Submit Roundtable cases for feedback, record notes in CRM, and maintain accurate account and beneficiary information, including required minimum distribution (RMD) tracking.
  • Schedule client reviews, prepare review documentation, and provide recommendations on investment objectives.
  • Perform post-review tasks, update account information, follow up on paperwork, and document all activities in CRM.
  • Provide Technical Planning and Research Support to Financial Advisors, including attending training, team meetings, and contributing to problem‑solving efforts.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned and perform any other duties as needed.
Qualifications

  • Basic competency in all areas of financial planning and working knowledge of the investment platform and financial planning software.
  • Strong proofreading, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, familiarity with Salesforce and Support Org functionality; experience with Workday preferred.
