Are you an early-career financial services professional who enjoys building relationships, helping clients, and turning financial recommendations into meaningful action?

Highview Advisor Group, a Private Wealth Practice of Ameriprise Financial located in Worthington, Ohio, is seeking a licensed Associate Financial Advisor to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who has financial services experience and wants to develop their advisory skills without the immediate pressure to build a book of business.

The Associate Financial Advisor will work directly alongside the lead advisor and collaborate with an experienced client service team. Initially, the position will focus on supporting existing client relationships, responding to client needs, participating in meetings, and assisting with financial planning. As the individual develops, there will be opportunities to assume greater responsibility for planning and client relationships.

What You Will Do

  • Build trusted relationships with existing clients and provide responsive, personalized service.
  • Respond to client questions and requests by phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist clients with rollovers, distributions, account-related questions, insurance needs, and other financial matters.
  • Participate in client meetings and coordinate follow-up activities.
  • Help prepare financial plans, meeting materials, and financial recommendations.
  • Work with other team members to facilitate account openings, applications, distributions, trades, and service requests.
  • Gradually assume responsibility for portions of client meetings and appropriate client relationships.
  • Help strengthen and expand the practice’s financial planning process.
  • Use technology and digital tools to improve efficiency and the client experience.
  • Maintain accurate client records and follow applicable industry and compliance requirements.
  • Complete the APMA designation within an agreed-upon period after joining the practice.
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.
  • Active Ohio life and health insurance licenses.
  • Some experience in banking, investments, insurance, wealth management, or another financial services environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence communicating with clients.
  • Ability to adapt communication to clients with different needs, backgrounds, and levels of financial knowledge.
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach.
  • Comfort learning new technology and using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in financial planning and wealth management.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • APMA designation preferred or willingness to obtain it after hire.
What This Role Does Not Require
  • An existing book of business.
  • Immediate responsibility for prospecting or bringing new assets to the practice.
  • An established history of financial product sales.
  • A CFP certification.

This position is designed to grow alongside the individual. The Associate Financial Advisor will initially concentrate on supporting existing clients and learning the practice’s approach to financial planning. Over time, the role may expand to include leading client meetings, overseeing portions of the financial planning process, managing client relationships, and participating in future practice-growth or succession opportunities.

Compensation
