Position Summary

The Associate Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining retail store technologies and computer systems within retail and commercial environments. Responsibilities include product installation, support, repair, and troubleshooting of Toshiba and non-Toshiba retail products, store systems, and SMB marketplace devices. The role involves customer satisfaction, operational activities, and may include equipment refurbishment, installation, relocation, and upgrades. Candidate will work under supervision initially, progressing to unsupervised work.

Travel Information

Candidates will travel across various cities including Syracuse, Palatine Bridge, Massena, and others, using a company vehicle.

Hourly Pay

Starting at $21.63/hr for this non-exempt role.

Responsibilities

1. Perform basic repairs and diagnostics on products, utilizing established procedures and tools.
2. Travel to customer locations for installations, upgrades, and repairs.
3. Communicate effectively with customers and team members, building positive relationships.
4. Manage service events to ensure quality and timeliness.
5. Plan and schedule work, including travel arrangements, with flexibility for varying shifts.
6. Document installation activities per standards.
7. Maintain trunk stock for customer support.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions

• Travel to multiple locations daily.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and twisting during work.
• Use of hand tools and possible air travel.
• Use of ladders or lifts for device access.

Required Skills & Experience

• High School Diploma and 2+ years in Electronics.
• Ability to travel 100%, including air travel.
• Knowledge of PC technology, network infrastructure, retail devices, and electronics.
• Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with test equipment and tools.
• Good communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to recognize and diagnose low voltage wiring and electronic systems.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and overtime.
