Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Associate Family Law Attorney to manage substantive family law matters with a strong background in litigation. This primarily remote role requires occasional in-person attendance at the firm’s offices in Park Ridge and Naperville, plus court appearances and related duties.

The candidate must have at least five years of family law experience, an active Illinois license, and excellent negotiation, writing, and client communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of substantive family law experience.
• Active Illinois law license in good standing.
• Strong litigation, courtroom, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines independently.
• Excellent judgment, organization, and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely with occasional in-person attendance.

Responsibilities

• Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including divorce, parentage, and child support.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
• Develop case strategy and provide clients with practical legal advice.
• Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with attention to detail.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and keep them informed.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff while taking ownership of assigned matters.
• Record time accurately and meet the firm's annual billable hours requirement.
• Participate in firm initiatives and contribute to its growth.
