Associate Facilities Specialist Position

McKesson's Central Fill Pharmacy in Spring, Texas is seeking an Associate Facilities Specialist to join our team. This is a hands‑on maintenance role supporting a highly automated pharmaceutical environment where conveyors, prescription‑filling equipment, electrical components, mechanical systems, computers, and other equipment all work together to keep operations moving. We're looking for someone with strong foundational mechanical and electrical knowledge, basic PLC knowledge, and the curiosity to figure things out. You don't need to know everything on day one. We can teach you our equipment, processes, and the McKesson way of doing things. What matters is how you approach a problem. When something unfamiliar breaks and there isn't an obvious answer, you're willing to investigate, research possible solutions, ask the right questions, and keep troubleshooting rather than simply stopping because the problem is new. Key Responsibilities

Compensation & Schedule

Target Salary: $30.00–$32.00/hour

Shift: 1st Shift

Regular Days Off: Thursday and Friday

Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Sunday: 6:30 AM–2:30 PM

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM

Weekends are required as part of the regular work schedule.

Education & Minimum Requirements

0–2 years of relevant experience. High school diploma, degree, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Critical Skills

• Foundational mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to safely use a voltmeter to measure voltage and current.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs and the ability to continue developing PLC troubleshooting skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in working with equipment, conveyors, electrical components, and automated systems.
• Resourceful problem-solving mindset with the curiosity to investigate unfamiliar issues and research potential solutions when an immediate answer is not available.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable taking initiative while knowing when to involve others.
• Flexible and able to shift priorities as equipment and operational needs change throughout the day.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, vendors, contractors, and other partners.
• Ability to understand and support McKesson's ICARE principles.

Additional Skills

Electrical

• - Ability to measure voltage and current accurately and safely and use this data to troubleshoot circuits.
• - Trained to work with 460, 220, and 120 VAC and 24-volt DC circuits.
• - Knowledge and understanding of motor starting circuits and power distribution circuits.
• - Ability to read electrical schematics and evaluate operations based on these schematics.
• - Ability to read ladder logic, download and upload PLC programs, and troubleshoot PLC functions.
• - Ability to work with control circuits using devices such as photoeyes, solenoid valves, limit switches, indicating lights, and safety switches.

Mechanical

• - Align bearings, shafts, and drives.
• - Adjust tension of belts and chains.
• - Identify worn or damaged parts and replace them as needed.
• - Develop and follow maintenance schedules based on the requirements of each device.
• - Lubricate, oil, and clean devices as specified in maintenance manuals.
• - Work with pneumatic circuits involving cylinders and solenoid valves.

Computer

• - Analyze cards and chips and replace them when necessary.
• - Troubleshoot network (Ethernet) systems.
• - Troubleshoot cabling and I/O devices.
• - Set up and analyze RS232/RS422 communications between computers and peripheral devices.

Work Environment

Central Fill Pharmacy by McKesson, 608 Spring Hill Drive, Spring, TX 77386. This is a regulated pharmaceutical production environment with automated prescription-filling equipment, conveyors, mechanical systems, and other moving equipment.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting, and climbing. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. unrestricted. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
