Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Lenexa, KS is seeking an Associate Fabricator to join our O&P fabrication team. You will fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices with focus on fit, function, cosmetics, and workmanship, following work instructions and quality standards.

On-site role offering on-the-job and formal O&P training, with opportunities to maintain tools, equipment, and materials, plus potential for career growth within the company’s expanding Patient Care network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; no experience required.
• Without diploma/GED, 1 year of related experience in O&P environments.
• Ability to follow work instructions and quality standards.
• Willingness to learn O&P training and LMS provided by leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices according to quality standards.
• May assist with ordering, receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• Maintain 5S workplace for a safe, clean environment.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
• Adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory training issued by Hanger, Inc.

Could This Be For You?

The Associate Fabricator fabricates the orthoses and prostheses to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics and workmanship. The Associate Fabricator will have on the job training as well as formal O&P Training i.e., LMS and other training provided by leadership. Through this training you will be expected to maintain tools, equipment, materials, and following work instructions per device in your work area.

Your Impact

• Perform fabrication of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
• May assist or perform in ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• Maintain 5s to ensure for a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
• Adhere to all HIPPA and other regulatory compliance training issued by Hanger, Inc.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED; no experience required.
• Preferred: less than 1 year of related experience working within environments that include: machinery, tools, wood working, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. -OR-
• Without diploma/GED, 1 year of related experience working within O&P environments that include: machinery, tools, design, fabrication, componentry, etc.

Additional Success Factors

• Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to specifications.
• Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.

• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
