Job description

Overview

Associate Event Producer at George P Johnson Experience Marketing (GPJ). This role is hybrid, requiring on-site work 2 days per week at either Boston, MA or New York City, NY.



Responsibilities


  • Ensure project timelines and budgets run smoothly and efficiently, whether for standalone small projects or as part of a larger program, with guidance from the project lead.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute projects from start to finish (live, digital, and creative elements).

  • Maintain strong client relationships, advocate on the client’s behalf, regularly update the Account Lead, and proactively flag potential issues.

  • Take lead communications when assigned, or manage your scope within the larger working group.

  • Contribute to staffing and resourcing decisions with Department leaders; manage relationships with key vendors, oversee the vendor RFP process when necessary, and address issues as they arise.

  • Complete the closing and reconciliation process for the overall event; mentor other Event Managers as needed; adhere to GPJ workflow processes for seamless execution.



Skills


  • Proven experience leading multiple components and multi-component projects or events.

  • Ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team with a focus on trust, accountability, and results.

  • Experience building respected peer-to-peer client relationships.

  • Own and manage master timelines and schedules; build, manage, and reconcile budgets.

  • Understanding of key financial metrics with guidance; ability to address budget impacts with limited guidance.

  • Able to identify and elevate potential budget/financial issues and propose solutions.

  • Familiarity with on-site methodology, venue rules and regulations (as applicable); strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/PM software experience preferred.



Experience & Education


  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in event production, live production, integrated production, account management, project management, or related fields.

  • 4-year college degree; preferred fields include Marketing/Advertising/Event Management/Business Administration, Hospitality, or Communications.

  • Influence and responsibility over business development, project launch and resource management, fabrication and graphics, change order management, procurement for services, management/delivery/deployment, and invoicing/financial reconciliation and closing.



Salary

Salary Range: $80k+


Salary is dependent on factors including experience, skills, and location.
