Craig-Hallum Capital Group, based in Wayne/Philadelphia, seeks an Associate Equity Research Analyst to support a Sr. Software analyst and produce small cap software research for institutional investors.

The role involves close interaction with Portfolio Managers and C-suite executives, emphasizing financial modeling, market analysis, and report writing. Travel to conferences is expected; CFA preferred and GPA 3.6+ required.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting required; CFA preferred.
• Internships or 1-2 years of experience in securities analysis or competitive intelligence.
• Demonstrated academic achievement with a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

Responsabilidades

The Position - Associate Equity Research Analyst

• As an Associate Equity Research Analyst, this individual will be working for our top ranked Sr. Software Analyst & Partner out of our Wayne / Philadelphia office, and will be integrally involved in producing small cap equity research for Institutional Investors.
• The learning curve is steep and the potential exceptional. According to ability and drive the associate will quickly be speaking directly with Portfolio Managers as well as the C-Suite of covered companies.

Job Duties

• Supporting our Sr. Software analyst form investment opinions on publicly traded software companies, by performing all the core competencies of equity research (modeling, competitive landscape analysis, market analysis, financial filing analysis, etc).
• Market landscape research and a variety of field work gathering competitive intelligence.
• Write reports and spearhead bottoms up research on new companies for initiation.
• Travel includes networking events and trade and investor conferences.
• As rapidly as training permits, advising portfolio managers using our research.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree from a top-tier institution required (degree in Finance / Accounting strongly preferred), CFA preferred, internships or 1-2 years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Securities Analysis, or similar experience, highly attractive.
• Demonstrated track record of academic achievement with a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
• Strong fundamentals stock-picking skills.This is not a quantitative position.
• Excellent writing and oral/telephone skills.
• Comfort with Excel a must, advanced Excel skills a strong positive.
• Requires strong drive, independent thinking, and self-initiative.

Job Expectations

• The position is for 50-60 hour weeks depending on workload as well as long evenings during quarterly earnings seasons. Weekend work is rare.
• Craig-Hallum hires with an intent to train up talent internally from junior into increasingly senior roles, and commits substantively more time and attention to training Associates than is standard in the industry.
