Job summary

Ramboll seeks an early-career Environmental Land Use Planner to support zoning and entitlement initiatives for diverse clients. You will assist senior staff with research, ordinance analysis, and permitting strategies, contributing to successful development outcomes.

The role offers a path to grow in municipal planning, with exposure to zoning databases, GIS tools, and stakeholder engagement across several offices, including NY, NJ, and PA. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
0-3 years of professional planning, land use, GIS, development, or related experience.
Strong research, technical writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to read and interpret zoning ordinances, municipal codes, planning documents, and development regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with GIS, ArcGIS, or mapping software is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent research and analysis of municipal zoning ordinances and planning documents.
Prepare entitlement matrices and jurisdiction-specific guidance documents for project teams and clients.
Support applications for rezonings, zoning text amendments, and other land development approvals.
Monitor municipal meetings and regulatory developments affecting timelines and entitlements.
Coordinate with engineers, environmental professionals, and legal counsel to support project implementation.
