Job summary

The Nevada Department of Transportation in Carson City is hiring a Staff 1, Associate Engineer to support planning, cost estimation, and delivery of transportation projects statewide. You will work under senior engineers on project planning, data integrity, system testing in Masterworks, and review of cost estimates.

The role blends technical engineering with project management, including early-stage design support for roadway geometrics and quantity calculations.

Qualifications

Engineer Intern certification by Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (or Bachelor's in civil engineering).
Two years of journey level experience acceptable.
Valid driver's license at appointment.
Ability to read technical plans, specifications and reports.
Ability to plan, organize and schedule work; work independently and in a team.
Ability to establish cooperative relationships with contractors, co-workers and government agencies.

Responsibilities

Support planning, data integrity, and cost estimation for statewide transportation projects.
Assist with early-stage design support for roadway geometrics and quantity calculations.
Review cost estimates and test Masterworks system data under supervision.
