Job summary

Dominion Energy in Richmond, VA seeks a Substation Engineer for its Renewable Infrastructure group. The engineer will support transmission-connected generation projects, work with project and construction managers, and ensure technical quality.

The role requires knowledge of electrical systems, strong communication with vendors and contractors, and adaptability to a hybrid work schedule in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Electric distribution, transmission or generation experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for project teams and contractors.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize project needs.
• Applicable engineering theory, standards, codes and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings to track engineering and project status.
• Provide technical support for notices, change orders, and milestone payments.
• Respond to RFIs and facilitate issue resolution.
• Support construction issue resolution with technical input.
• Review commissioning test reports and turnover documents.
• Work with supervision while increasing independence over time.
