The Associate Engineer Optical Metrology is accountable for methodologies to test new and existing product characteristics and performance. Methodology development includes the construction, validation, documentation and support of all optical and dimensional test methods. This Associate Engineer supports work with product development teams to transfer design requirements into test methods. He/She manages hardware acquisition efforts, working with suppliers to create new systems within budgetary and schedule constraints. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives. Engages in Credo-based decision-making.
Laser safety clearance. Ability to sit/stand in front of instruments; ability to make measurements throughout the day. Light lifting (up to 23 lbs.). Ability to communicate clearly to various internal customers with testing requests in the lab. Visual acuity – ability to see lenses in liquid.
Work location: Jacksonville, FL. Travel: <10%.
