Overview
Our EOT Production Services Team is seeking a Database Engineer to join our diverse team of database administrators, software developers, and production engineers. You will be responsible for providing reliable platforms and services for trading systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging middleware, reference data distribution, and observability and alerting solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

You will join an existing group of Data Engineers to assist with the administration, configuration, maintenance, and deployment of over 150 servers. This role involves diagnosing full stack problems and collaborating with systems engineers, developers, database administrators, and business users to enhance our database environment.

In this role, you will work with teams across our entire business, supporting various business and database systems, and collaborating with Front Office Trading Technology Teams to implement innovative solutions at the core of our business.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Supporting the operation of over 150 database servers used across multiple systems and end-users.
  • Managing, troubleshooting, and enhancing ETL processes to support business and application needs.
  • Designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant database platforms.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and deploy new database technologies supporting trading systems.
  • Continuous system improvements, including upgrades, reliability enhancements, monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
  • Working with developers and end-users to optimize database performance, including SQL tuning.
  • Assisting in diagnosing and resolving production incidents.
  • Maintaining database systems and data integrity for trading access.
  • Supporting archiving, regeneration, and repair of historical data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Database Administration.
  • Experience with large databases (tens of millions of rows, terabytes of data).
  • Proficiency with MongoDB, Oracle, Postgres, InfluxDB, and SQL Server.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows OS.
  • Hands-on SQL, shell scripting, and Python skills.
  • Experience with ETL tools like Informatica is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Ansible is a plus.
