Job summary

Presidio is seeking an Associate Security Engineer to support day-to-day administration of security tools within our MDR environments. This entry‑level role offers a foundation in cybersecurity operations, working under senior engineers to maintain core security operations components and grow technical expertise.

The position is remote within the Continental US with up to 5% travel. Ideal for early‑career professionals eager to learn and contribute to a forward‑looking security program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1–2 years in cybersecurity, IT support, or SOC environment (internships or co-op acceptable).
  • Exposure to SIEM platforms (Elastic, Logz.io, Azure Sentinel) and familiarity with security logging and event management.
  • Foundational understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and syslog; operating systems Linux/Unix and Windows; Active Directory.
  • Comfortable in command‑line environments and basic scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in cybersecurity with a generalist mindset.
  • Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC-900 encouraged but not required.
  • Must be a US Citizen

The Role
As an Associate Security Engineer at Presidio, you will play a supporting role in the day-to-day administration of security tools and services within our Managed Detection & Response (MDR) environments. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career professionals eager to build a foundation in cybersecurity operations. You’ll work under the guidance of senior engineers and contribute to maintaining core components of security operations while developing your technical expertise in security engineering.

Travel Requirements:

This is a remote role residing in the Continental US with 5% associated travel.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and basic maintenance of security tools and platforms under the supervision of senior engineers.
