Job summary

Blayze Group is seeking a highly motivated Associate for its Dallas-based investment team. The candidate will be a pre-MBA professional with 2–4 years of full-time experience in investment banking, private equity or related investing role, evaluating M&A or private equity transactions in energy and infrastructure.

The Associate will engage in sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio value creation across the investment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or related discipline.
• Two to four years of full-time, pre-MBA experience in investment banking, private equity or similar.
• Direct experience executing M&A, LBO or private investments.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its Dallas-based investment team.

The ideal candidate will be a pre-MBA professional with two to four years of full-time experience in investment banking, private equity or another relevant investing role. Candidates should have direct experience evaluating and executing M&A or private investment transactions, ideally within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The Associate will gain exposure to the complete investment lifecycle, including sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate investment opportunities across the energy and infrastructure sectors.


• Build detailed financial models, including LBO, valuation, operating and returns analyses.


• Conduct financial, commercial and operational due diligence.


• Perform detailed industry, company and market research.


• Support the structuring, negotiation and execution of complex investment transactions.


• Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for the Investment Committee.


• Develop materials for limited partners and other stakeholders.


• Assist in maintaining relationships with management teams, sponsors, limited partners, lenders and advisors.


• Monitor portfolio investments and support value-creation initiatives.


• Contribute to business-development and investment-sourcing activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or a related discipline.


• Two to four years of full-time, pre-MBA experience in investment banking, private equity or another relevant investing role.


• Direct experience executing M&A, leveraged-buyout or private investment transactions.


• Exposure to energy, power, utilities, energy transition or infrastructure preferred.


• Exceptional financial-modelling, valuation and analytical skills.


• Experience preparing investment memoranda and transaction presentations.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.


• Intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset.


• Willingness to work in person with the Dallas-based team.

Internships and academic investment experience will not substitute for the required two to four years of full-time transaction experience.
