Job description

Overview

Unifiedis a nationwide community of providers, operations specialists and thought leaders who look for the greatest opportunities to impact every woman's health, at every stage of their journeys. We are unparalleled in our scale and ability to adapt to address unmet and underserved needs. Through 815+ clinics, 23 IVF labs, nationwide telehealth capabilities and targeted case management, our 2,700+ independent, affiliated providers deliver comprehensive women’s health services and continuously work to implement methods and develop techniques or platforms that improve the healthcare experience. We remain focused on enabling the discovery of new ways for our affiliated providers to deliver the high-quality care experience women deserve, in the ways they most wish to receive it, and collaborate across our community to make our vision a reality.

The Associate Employee Relations provides specialized human resources support for moderately complex employee relations matters. The role evaluates escalated concerns, interprets HR policies and employment practices, assesses risk, and recommends appropriate next steps to support consistent, compliant, and well-documented outcomes. This position serves as an escalation point between HR Shared Services and the Employee Relations Partner, using discretion and independent judgment to determine when matters can be resolved directly and when they require further escalation to Employee Relations leadership, Legal, Compliance, or other stakeholders.

The role supports early intervention on employee concerns, manager guidance, case documentation, and coordinated resolution of issues involving performance, conduct, attendance, policy interpretation, workplace concerns, and related employee relations risks.

Responsibilities
  • Assess escalated employee relations matters from HR Shared Services, HR partners, managers, and employees to determine scope, risk level, applicable policy considerations, ownership, and appropriate resolution or escalation path.
  • Provide consultative guidance to managers and HR partners on moderately complex performance, conduct, attendance, corrective action, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation issues, using independent judgment to recommend consistent and appropriate courses of action.
  • Gather, review, and organize relevant case information, including employee concerns, manager documentation, prior history, policy references, and supporting records needed to evaluate facts and support defensible decisions.
  • Support resolution of assigned employee relations cases by analyzing facts, weighing compliance and consistency risks, documenting recommendations, and coordinating timely follow-through with leaders, HR partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with workplace investigations by supporting intake, preparing case summaries, gathering documentation, participating in interviews as appropriate, and escalating complex allegations or high-risk matters to the Employee Relations Partner or leadership.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and objective case documentation in HR case management systems, ensuring notes, supporting materials, recommendations, decisions, and follow-up actions are complete and timely.
  • Identify recurring case themes, policy interpretation gaps, documentation issues, escalation trends, or manager capability needs and recommend updates to tools, knowledge resources, processes, or training materials.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Participate in training and development to stay current on employment practices, HR policies, case handling standards, and employee relations trends.
  • Maintain general knowledge of HR service delivery processes and provide backup support to HR Shared Services and Employee Relations initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, HR operations, HR service delivery, HR generalist support, or a closely related HR function.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters such as performance management, corrective action, policy interpretation, employee complaints, workplace conduct concerns, leave or accommodation escalations, or case triage.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze employee situations, gather and organize facts, identify risk, apply policy, and recommend appropriate next steps.
  • Strong written documentation skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, objective, and defensible case notes, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive, confidential, or potentially high-risk employee matters.
  • Strong consultation, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to guide managers, employees, HR partners, and Shared Services team members professionally and objectively.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, employment practices, and basic federal, state, and local employment law concepts.
  • Ability to maintain neutrality, manage competing perspectives, and escalation complex or sensitive issues appropriately.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, case management, ticketing systems, Microsoft Office, and related HR technology platforms.
  • Experience in healthcare, multi-practice, multi-state, MSO, or complex employment environments preferred.
