Job summary

Scoular is seeking motivated grain elevator operators to join our team and contribute to safe, reliable grain handling and supply chain solutions. You will load and unload grain, weigh and grade, and operate loaders, skid steers, track mobiles, and rail car movers while maintaining storage areas and performing routine maintenance.

The role requires physical stamina, comfort with outdoor work in extreme weather, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be comfortable with climbing ladders, heights, and confined spaces.
• Must be able to work with grain dust and in dusty environments.
• Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and safety footwear.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs multiple times per day.

• Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing grain while assisting with the weighing and grading of grain trucks.
• Operate heavy equipment (loaders, skid steer loaders, track mobiles, rail car movers, etc.)
• Manage grain storage by creating and moving grain piles, as well as performing general cleaning and housekeeping of bins and storage structures.
• Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and promptly reporting any unsafe practices or hazards.
• Perform general maintenance tasks as needed to support operations.

About You

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat (90-120F), cold (subzero), and high winds (40+ mph).
• Must be comfortable with climbing ladders, heights, and working in confined spaces
• Must be able to work in environments with dust and airborne particles, including grain dust
• Wear required PPE, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and safety footwear.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. multiple times per day and standing on hard surfaces for extended periods
• Experience in a grain facility preferred but not required
