Job summary

Pyka is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, and test electrical subsystems for autonomous electric aircraft. You will work under senior engineers, applying your foundation to real-world challenges in power electronics, embedded systems, and flight hardware.

You will contribute to schematic capture, PCB layout, lab bring-up, and testing while collaborating with Production and cross-functional teams to deliver robust hardware for field use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 0–2 years of professional experience (co-op acceptable).
• Foundational knowledge of electronics lab equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, multimeter).
• Hands-on PCB layout and schematic capture tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle).
• Familiarity with Linux, embedded systems and C/C++ programming.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to full PCBA design cycle (schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout) under mentorship.
• Assemble, bring up, and verify PCBs in lab.
• Perform bench testing, collect data, and troubleshoot electrical/embedded issues.
• Develop hardware for power systems, avionics, and sensors.
• Create and maintain engineering docs (test procedures, design notes, reports).
• Collaborate with Production to move designs from prototype to customers.
• Work with Mechanical, Software, and Flight Test teams during system integration.
