Associate Editor, Global Pictures Desk:

Reuters is looking for an enthusiastic and globally minded journalist with strong English skills and a keen eye for detail. The Global Pictures Desk team ensures the quality, accuracy, and speed of news picture delivery to our worldwide clients. Our dynamic newsroom includes text, visuals, digital, polling, graphics, legal, and sports journalists who collaborate to produce a unique professional news product. We are the first to know the news. This entry-level, full-time, desk-based role requires flexibility. You must be willing to work as part of a global 24/7 rotating shift system, including weekends, public holidays, and occasional night shifts.

You will join our global team editing the news pictures service in Bangalore, India, contributing to the daily picture file.

About the Role:

• Gather images sent in from editors and photographers worldwide
• Research and edit photos and captions, writing captions in English quickly and accurately for our global clients
• Collaborate with colleagues across pictures, text, video, and online teams to ensure integrated multimedia news coverage
• Live edit major news, sports, and entertainment events

About You:

• Minimum 1+ year experience in caption editing, photo captions, video, etc.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
• A passion for journalism and a strong interest in current affairs
• Desire to work for a leading multimedia news organization
• Good news judgment and ability to identify breaking stories
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills under pressure
• Degree or experience in English studies, Mass Communication, or Journalism
• Interest or experience in photography and journalism
• Proficiency with Apple computers and Adobe Photoshop
• Commitment to the Trust Principles of independence, integrity, and bias-free reporting
• Enjoy working in a diverse, global team
