Job summary

Leidos in the United States seeks an Associate Distribution Engineer/Designer to develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems, both overhead and underground. You will review client scopes and perform critical engineering calculations, including pole loading, sag/tension, voltage drop, and outages analysis.

You will coordinate field and office work, support construction, and interact with clients to ensure adherence to standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred) with 0+ years of experience.
• Experience with NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and GIS a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated (Job-related travel Will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)
• Willingness to perform both field and office work; The role may require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages
• Candidates should possess valid U.S. driver's license, as some local or regional travel is expected

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.
• Gain experience in coordinating conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications

Leidos is seeking Associate Distribution Engineer's who are passionate about electric utility design engineering. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. Location: This position has remote-working capabilities but the preference is for candidates to be located within a commutable distance of Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan area (Western Pennsylvania) to support local utility clients as business needs require.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00
