Position: Associate Dispatcher

Location: Evansville, IN

CenterPoint Energy is seeking an Associate Dispatcher to join their Gas Operations Dispatching Team. The role involves monitoring gas emergency and meter orders for company and contract service technicians, coordinating with various departments and emergency agencies to ensure efficient scheduling of work. The position requires 24/7 availability to respond to emergencies and manage operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor gas and electric meter order work for employees and contractors.
  2. Assist in managing meter order resources, review technician routes, and allocate work efficiently.
  3. Communicate with Field Technicians and Supervisors regarding schedules and contingency plans.
  4. Manage customer and work orders to maximize productivity, control costs, and ensure compliance with standards.
  5. Monitor performance and adherence to schedules, reporting anomalies.
  6. Process incoming emergency and customer calls related to natural gas issues.
  7. Communicate safety precautions clearly and document details for field response.
  8. Assess urgency of gas emergency orders to prioritize response and ensure safety.
  9. Handle damage communications with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership.
  10. Respond promptly to emergency calls like gas leaks and outages.
  11. Answer incoming calls efficiently to meet departmental metrics.
  12. Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, on a rotational schedule.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience with SAP or similar dispatching systems.
  • One year of experience supporting gas distribution operations or dispatching.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to perform under stress.
