Associate Director, Talent Consulting, Value Creation

Vista Equity Partners is seeking a strategic and results-driven Associate Director, Talent Consulting to join our Talent Practice.

This role is a highly visible and accountable role within Vista’s Value Creation team, serving as a key partner to Vista’s senior operating leaders and portfolio company Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) to drive Talent best practices and operational excellence, and accelerate growth across our enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of management consulting, strategic talent acumen, operational rigor, and a passion for transforming Talent functions at “PE pace” to achieve measurable business outcomes.

This role reports to the VP & Head of Talent Consulting

Responsibilities
  • Talent Value Creation: Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including Operating Managing Directors, Investment Team leaders, Talent practice team members, and portfolio company CHROs/CEOs, to develop and implement Talent value creation initiatives that align with business objectives and drive portfolio impact. Serve as steward of Vista’s Talent best practices, including attracting, retaining and developing talent in our portfolio companies.
  • Operational Excellence: Promote operational excellence via standardization of Talent best practice service delivery. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through deployment of Talent AI solutions, and driving Talent innovations both internally and within the portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Management: Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics across senior internal and external parties to drive alignment on Talent priorities/best practices, and deliver expected business outcomes.
  • Management Team Excellence: In partnership with the broader Talent practice, promote management team quality through building & deploying evaluation tooling and capabilities.
  • Talent Analytics: Produce Talent benchmarking analyses and insights that shape Talent team priorities and accelerate portfolio impact.
  • Vista Community: Support community-building and best practice sharing initiatives throughout the Vista ecosystem, including producing content for Vista’s portfolio-wide events & webinars.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience across both Talent/HR leadership and top-tier management consulting, with a strong track record of successful business outcomes
  • Experience in a private equity operating role with an emphasis on B2B software, or similar rigorous, fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration skills within and across internal teams, with ability to drive progress and work product without formal authority
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and building consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated talent strategies that drive business growth
  • Demonstrated ability to execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple engagements and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder dynamics
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into clear, actionable strategies
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to engage with portfolio companies and Vista teams

The pay range for this role is expected to be between $200,000 - $225000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
