Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks a Senior Supplier Quality & Development leader to own long-term strategy and drive supplier qualification and quality initiatives across a global supply base.

You will lead a team of experienced professionals, steer corrective actions, and ensure adherence to contract requirements while advancing continuous improvement across materials and processes.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

Manages supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation processes, processing of supplier submission of nonconforming material. Manages/Supports supplier onboarding and qualification/certification. Manages source inspection and material release processes. Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic supplier process and product materials.

Proactively supports the RTX supplier programs to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability. Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies; addressing them with key proactive quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), as well as driving their implementation. Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all contract requirements including Resourcing Gate, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance and Work Transfer implementation.

Owns the execution of key elements of Supplier Quality & Development operational plans. May lead a team of primarily experienced Supplier Quality & Development professionals or a team responsible for Supplier Quality & Development for an organization of small size or scope. Sets tactical and operational plans for the achievement of short- to medium-term goals for supplier performance. Provides guidance on the implementation of quality initiatives.

What You Will Do:
  • Leads a Team and owns the execution of long-term strategy (e.g., more than 3 years) and the operational direction, typically for a business of modest size and scope.
  • Manages a team of primarily experienced professionals. Focuses on tactical and operational plans with short- to medium-term focus (e.g., less than 1 year to 1 - 2 years).
  • Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
  • Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
  • Owns the execution of Supplier Quality & Development strategy, driving supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
  • Develops and drives implementation of supplier specific quality initiative strategies.
  • Leads Supplier Quality-related activities, such as raw material assessments, design of contracted manufactured items, and materials packaging; ensuring service providers and laboratories employ good manufacturing practices (GMP) and procurement practices meet or exceed requirements.
  • Recommends and implements processes or standards in support of the Collins Supplier program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.Leads Team via Corrective Action with suppliers.Directs teams responsible for ensuring that supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
  • Responsible to define and establish appropriate overall performance management that facilitates achievement of business objectives and key deliverables through transparent visualization of status and risks, incorporating elements that also enable indication of future performance.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time (domestic & international).
Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization and external suppliers
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Certifications in Metallic Testing (MTL), Heat-Treatment, NDT, Surface treatments
  • Knowledge of the business, the context and major challenges to handle internal/external customers’ needs and develop approaches which satisfy their expectations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/industrial engineering or similar field
  • Knowledge and expertise of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Practical Problem Solving, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma)

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
