Job summary

Harvard University’s Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) seeks an Associate Director of Statistical Programming to lead complex programming efforts in support of ACTG and IMPAACT networks. The role emphasizes SAS, R, Python, and Bash within a collaborative, mission-driven environment at CBAR in Boston.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of high‑level statistical programming experience in clinical data settings, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering scalable programming

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of high‑level statistical programming skills in a clinical data environment or research setting (preferred with clinical trial data).
• Experience with SAS and scripting languages; knowledge of R desirable.
• Experience supervising staff and managing programming projects in a research setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead Programming Core priorities and commitments, including assessment of new applications and allocation of resources.
• Review and approve program specifications and requirements.
• Directly supervise junior and senior programming staff and coordinate training needs.
• Collaborate with CBAR IT and external partners to ensure robust testing and data transfers.
• Maintain CDISC SDTM/ADaM standards support and contribute to programming tools development.
