Job summary

Verizon is seeking a senior software engineer to own full-stack development across frontend and backend, focusing on AEM, React, Node, and data platforms. The role emphasizes building scalable, real-time processing pipelines and guiding a cross-functional team in a hybrid work model in Irving, TX.

You will collaborate with CXO stakeholders to define roadmaps for case management, personalization, and platform capabilities, while ensuring security and compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 6 years of progressive software engineering experience with web technologies and data processing.
• Experience creating responsive web pages and content as services using AEM, React JS, Node JS, jQuery and JavaScript.
• 5 years using Kafka, HBase, Hive, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Scala on Spark, real-time data processing, ETL and data modeling.
• 4 years in cloud-native technologies and service deployment using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Hybrid role with ability to work from home.

What you’ll be doing...

Responsible for the entire software development lifecycle from prototyping to user interactions and database management - directing changes to both front-end and back-end in the marketing product agile work stream (20%); Manage the project execution, delivery, and ongoing support (end to end and life cycle deployment) with decision-making authority (20%); Support the intake of potential use cases, partner with stakeholder groups to identify high-value opportunities (10%); Work with the stakeholder community to promote compliance with standards/guidelines, lead practices, security, and risk management (10%); Develop a high performing team, groom talents to learn and implement next-gen technologies in strategic products and platforms, manage performance of team members, identify, recruit, mentor and develop employees (10%); Identify KPI and track metrics end to end on key programs, achieve business goals, establish, evolve, and retire business capabilities (10%); Define and implement roadmaps, define capability roadmaps to address gaps systematically, map out future state business processes for case management and personalization (10%); Provide perspective on how other industries are creating and managing similar business processes, partner with business stakeholders in CXO to define the case management strategy, work with other GTS leaders to understand business needs and enable platform capabilities to improve customer and billing experience (10%).

What we’re looking for...

Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer/Developer, System Engineer/Specialist, Programmer Analyst/Manager, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 6 years in creating responsive web page and content as services using AEM, React JS, Node JS, jQuery and JavaScript; 5 years using Kafka, hBase, Hive, Elastic search, Kibana, Scala on Spark, real-time data processing, building ETL and query models, creating data models; and 4 years in cloud native technology and service deployment using Kubernetes and Docker, developing Shell scripts and running cron/oozie/spark jobs on Hadoop platform, implementing data service architecture that ingests real time data streams, parses JSON, and loads them into multiple data persistence stores to provide real time and offline analytics. In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
