Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Wellness and Recreation, the Associate Director will assist in managing the Department of Wellness and Recreation. Responsibilities include planning and leading year-round programs focused on wellness, recreation, intramurals, and club sports. The role also serves as a secondary contact for the department.

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and involves reporting incidents in accordance with the Clery Act.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in wellness programming, recreation, intramurals, and club sports.
  2. Manage departmental budgets related to these areas.
  3. Create and implement a comprehensive programming calendar.
  4. Develop holistic wellness programs promoting student health and wellness, including education on AOD, STI prevention, nutrition, and relationships.
  5. Lead the college's Biennial Review process.
  6. Oversee the annual Health Summit and wellness spaces in Housing.
  7. Maintain departmental policies and manage equipment inventory.
  8. Handle contracts and collaborative programming efforts across campus.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with collegiate facility operations and staff management
  • Experience with holistic wellness programming
  • Membership in industry organizations like NIRSA
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of ACSM best practices for fitness and wellness facilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a collegiate environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Understanding of higher education policies and CAS standards
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
