Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals Woodhull seeks a senior Social Worker Administrator to oversee behavioral health services. Requires MSW from an accredited school and New York certification, plus at least six years of clinical social work experience including three in healthcare and three in supervisory/administrative roles.

The role directs staff and departments, develops programs, manages budgets, and represents the organization in related functions.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree (MSW) from an accredited School of Social Work and certification by the State of New York.
• Six years of experience in clinical social work, of which three years are in a health care or medical care setting including psychiatric and medical social work, and three years in a supervisory, consultative and administrative capacity.
• A satisfactory completion of education, training and experience which includes at least a Masters Degree from an accredited School of Social Work, plus certification from the New York State Department of Education.
• Demonstrated ability to function productively and cooperatively with Director of Social Work, Medical Staff, Administrative Staff and to supervise effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating plans and drafts of plans, policies, programs and procedures. Participates in the implementation of improved systems and procedures, monitors of systems, and in the control and audit programs.
• Makes studies of adequacy and effectiveness of general administrative and support services and makes recommendations.
• Prepares data for budget preparation, operating and statistical reports, analysis and makes recommendations.
• Monitors requisitioning of supplies and equipment. Requisitions materials and supplies for administrative, professional and support service activities.
• Prepares studies on patient care standards, conducts analysis and prepares recommendations.
• Attends staff meetings, conferences and consults with other departments.
• May represent health care setting administration in relevant functions and programs.
• Assists in grant proposal writing and in submitting revenue and expenditure reports for special funded programs.
• Performs other related duties, as directed.
